La Niña (Abreu) and AKC GCh El Niño (Marrero) Niño welcomed 4 girls the morning of April 15, 2019. Finding Cuban dogs in the states is tough but there are a few breeders who have them. These puppies are very special and are as close to 100% Cuban as you can get.  As a result, in honor of the breeders I got them from and my Cuban friends and dogs, my theme for this litter is Cuban Familia or Cuban Family. They have been given Cuba names that are used as terms of endearment for family. Left to right meet my little Havanese babies!

Nińa was such a good mom. She is the first mom I have had that sat up to feed her puppies. She is also the first mom I have had that would go and get food and bring it back to her babies. She played with them a lot. She didn't mind having the other dogs around them but people . . . that was another story. I think she must of known that they would eventually go to new homes. She nursed them until they went to their new homes. Even today, she continues to watch over Nene who stayed with me.

Here are some photos of the puppies while they were here with me.
